High School Senior Jason
Toshner grabbed a 2nd place finish at the WIAA State Individual
Wrestling Tournament on Saturday night in Madison.
 In the 195 pound bracket, Toshner lost a
6-0 decision to 44-0 Mason Stokke of Menomonie. 
Toshner’s year ends at 44-3.

 

In Division 2, Campbellsport’s
Alex Costello took 5th at 113 and Lomira’s Jordan Michael takes 4th
place at 170.  Chilton-Hilbert put three
wrestlers on the podium in D2.  At 120
Abe Sell took 4th, at 145 Austin Kueler was 5th and at
1950 Duncan Calnin was 4th.

 

In Division 3, Laconia had three
wrestlers earn a podium spot.  At 120
Alec Potter to 6th, at 152 Zach Coffeen was 5th, and at
195 Eli Moses to 6th.

Regional Finals

Division Three

A pair of #1 seeds
advanced to the Sectional in the Division 3 Regional Finals in our area on
Saturday night.   #1 seed Waupun (19-5) took
down #2 seed Poynette 57-42.  #1 seed Laconia (17-7) rolled by
#2 seed Winnebago Lutheran 46-32.  The
Vikings year ends at 14-10.  Laconia and Waupun will
square off in the Sectional Semifinals on Thursday night at Beaver Dam.  That tip is set for 7pm.

 

Division Four


The St. Mary’s Springs Academy girls basketball team won the
Division 4 Regional championship with a 50-30 win over Oshkosh Lourdes on
Saturday night at the Hutter Gym.  Senior
Kelli Schrauth fought off foul trouble to lead the way with 18 points.  Liz Bohn added 9 for the Ledgers.  Lourdes
(20-5) was led by Sophomore Katie Van Scyoc with 10.  The Ledgers (22-2) will face Howards Grove (17-7)
in the Sectional Semifinal on Thursday night at Fond du Lac High School.
 The Ledgers beat Howards Grove 48-19 in
their season opener back on November 18th. You’ll hear the Sectional
