The Packers open up the 2015 season in Chicago today.  You’ll hear the game on News-Talk 1450
KFIZ.  Coverage begins at 10am with the kickoff
at Noon.

 

You’ll hear Sunday Night Football on KFIZ as the Cowboys
host the Giants.  Coverage begins at
6:30pm.

 

The Badgers rolled by Miami, Ohio 58-0 on Saturday at Camp Randall.  Joel Stave threw three touchdowns and Dare Ogunbowale
had 112 yards on the ground.  The Badgers
host Troy next
Saturday at 2:30pm on KFIZ.

 

The Brewers lost to the Pirates 10-2 on Saturday night in Pittsburgh.  Ryan Braun went 2×4 with an RBI.  Zach Davies took the loss. The series wraps
up this afternoon.

 

The Fond du Lac girls golf
team hosted the Fond du Lac High School Invite at Rolling Meadows on Saturday.  Madeline Krolczyk led the Cardinals with an
88 which tied her for 22nd.  Margaret Krolczyk was 26th with a
91.

 

Fondy Girls Tennis team went 2-3 over the weekend in the
Brookfield Central Lady Lancers Invite. Individually the #1 doubles team of
Maddie Bahr and Annie Hierl went 4-1 overall.

 

The Fond du Lac
boys tennis team won their consolation pool at the Racine Park Invite on
Saturday.  After going 1-2 in pool play,
the Cardinals beat Waukesha North, Kenosha Bradford, Beloit Memorial, and Union
Grove to earn the bracket title.

 

The Fond du Lac
girls volleyball team went 3-2 at the Fondy Invite on Saturday.  The Cardinals fell to Grafton and Hartford, but beat Menasha,
Denmark
, and
Oshkosh North.

 

In high school cross country on Saturday, Fond
du Lac
had runners in the Matt Hadler Invitational at Menomonee Falls
The Cardinals Annie Moore won the girls event with a time of 19:33:64.  Fondy’s Ally Gietzel was 4th,
Madison Hughes 10th, and Liz Ziegler 14th.  On the boys side, Bryton Koepke was 4th.

College Women’s Golf

Freshman Tayler Wise sits in a tie for second place after the
opening round of the Marian Invitational at Whispering Springs.  Wise shot
an 88 (+16) and sits only six strokes behind Nina Puch of Concordia Wisconsin for the lead.
Aurora University sits in first place of the team standings
with a 364 (+76).

time set for 8:30 a.m.

 

College Men’s Golf

he Marian University men’s golf team opened the Marian
Invitational, held at Whispering Springs, with a team score of 313 (+25)
putting them in the lead after the first round.  The Sabres lead over St. Norbert
College
by three strokes.
Junior Ryonen Faris leads all golfers
after the first round after shooting a one-under par (71). 
 Marian concludes the Marian Invitational tomorrow, Sunday, Sept.
13, at Rolling Meadows in Fond du Lac, Wis. 
Tee time is scheduled to start at 8:30 a.m.

 

College Cross Country

The Marian University men’s and women’s cross country teams
opened the 2015 season with the Ken Weidt Classic, hosted by Concordia University Wisconsin.
The University of Wisconsin
Stevens Point
took home the team victory on the
men’s side with a score of 31 behind Lukas Johnston who clocked in at 26:36.5
to earn the individual title.
Freshman Jacob Leiden led the Sabres finishing in 75th place with
a time of 30:34.4 and was followed by fellow freshman Isaac Kinjerski who
crossed the line at the 36:19.7 mark.
  On the women’s side it was Lawrence University
scoring a 49 to take home the team title.  Marya Haegler of host Concordia University Wisconsin
earned the individual title with a time of 23:17.2.
  Freshman Kayla Gregor was the lone Sabre runner for the women’s
team and finished in 59th with a time of 26:38.1.
Marian is next back in action when they
travel to the Sabercat Invite Saturday, Sept 26 hosted by Maranatha Baptist.
