James White complied 196 total yards and a TD as the Badgers blew by Purdue 41-10 in their Big Ten opener on Saturday.  Melvin Gordon ran for 147 yards and 3 TDs in the win.  Wisconsin heads to Columbus for a Saturday night matchup with Penn State next weekend.  You’ll hear it on KFIZ.

 

The Packers are in Cincinnati for game #3 of the 2013 season.  You’ll hear it on KFIZ.  Coverage begins at 10am with the kickoff at Noon.

 

St. Louis held on to their 2 game lead in the NL Central by beating the Brewers 7-2 on Saturday night at Miller Park.  Khris Davis drove in both Brewers runs.  Yovani Gallardo gave up just 2 runs and 4 hits in seven innings but sees his record drop to 11-10 on the season.  It’s the final home game of the season tonight as the Brewers and Cardinals wrap up the series.  Coverage begins at 6:30pm on News-Talk 1450 KFIZ.

 

Fondy Cross Country

The Fond du Lac girls finished 8th at a cross country meet in New London on Saturday while the boys were 11th.  For the Fondy girls, Megan Buechel won the event and Annie Moore was 2nd.  Freshman Tommy Letkewicz was the boys top finisher at 44th. 

 

C-Sport Cross Country

The Campbellsport boys won the Kris Greening Invitational Cross Country Meet hosted by Ripon on Saturday. The meet was held at Tuscumbia Golf Club in Green Lake. The Cougars edged 2nd place Waupun by 4 points—-53 to 57. There was a total of nine teams that participated. Campbellsport had 5 runners in the top 20. Sam Candee finished 4th, Casey Ruplinger 7th, Tyler Beres 12th, Levi Feucht 13th, and Chase Lindgren 17th.The Cougar girls were 7th at the meet. Toni Hundertmark was the top runner for Campbellsport in 17th place. Ellen Hodny finished 29th.

 

Boys Soccer

The Fond du Lac boys soccer team won the Ashwaubenon tournament with a 3-2 win over Wauwatosa East on Saturday.  Danny Sosalla,  Casey McArdle, and Brock Lisowe scored the Cardinal goals.  Fondy is now 10-5-1 on the season.
