High School Football:

The St. Mary’s Springs Ledgers are competing for the Division Six State Championship this afternoon at Camp Randall Stadium in Madison. Springs will take on Iola-Scandinavia in the second game of the day, with kickoff scheduled for 1pm. A win would give St. Mary’s Springs their seventh WIAA State Title. Our coverage on KFIZ begins at 12:30 pm with Spencer Wagen and Zach Sielaff on the call. The game will also be streamed live online at KFIZ.com and on the Tune In App.

Women’s College Basketball:

–Brandi Bender scored 25 points, including the game-winning basket with four seconds left as the Sabres won the season opener against the Vikings.

Green Bay 67, Wisconsin 34

NBA:

Milwaukee 99, Detroit 95

–Khris Middleton scored 27 points, Giannis Antetokounmpo added 21 as the Bucks won their fourth in a row. Milwaukee travels to Dallas on Saturday night.

MLB:

Indians ace Corey Kluber and Nationals pitcher Max Scherzer were named this year’s Cy Young Award winners from their respective leagues on Wednesday. Kluber won his second AL Cy Young Award after picking up 28 of 30 first-place votes from the Baseball Writers’ Association of America. Kluber led the majors with a 2.25 ERA and tied for the major league lead with 18 victories. Scherzer was the NL Cy Young winner for the second straight year after going 16-6 with a 2.51 ERA and a league-leading 268 strikeouts in 31 starts.
