NFL:


For the second time this year, the Packers have released defensive lineman Ricky Jean Francois. Francois was released on September 12th to create room for Geronimo Allison after his return from a one-game suspension, he was then brought back to the team a few weeks later. Francois totaled just three tackles on the season, playing in just five snaps in the loss to New Orleans.


College Basketball:

Wisconsin 69, Northern Iowa 38 (Exhibition)

--Freshman Kobe King had 15 points to lead the Badgers past the Panthers in an exhibition game at the Kohl Center Wednesday night. Wisconsin hosts UW-Stout on Sunday afternoon in their final exhibition contest.


For the first time since 2010, the Wisconsin Men’s Basketball team was not ranked in the Associated Press’ Preseason Top 25 poll when it was released on Wednesday. The Badgers received 14 votes in the preseason rankings, to finish eight spots outside the poll. The preseason Top five consists of Duke at number one, Michigan State at two, Arizona at three, Kansas at four and Kentucky at five. The second five consists of Villanova, Wichita State, Florida, North Carolina and USC. Other Big Ten teams in the rankings include Minnesota at 15, Northwestern at 19 and Purdue at 20. Maryland and Michigan also received votes in the preseason poll.


NBA:


Charlotte 126, Milwaukee 121

--Khris Middleton scored 43 points, Malcolm Brogdon added 20 as the Bucks lost to the Hornets in Charlotte Wednesday night. Giannis was held to a season low 14 points in the loss. Both teams shot over 50% from three point range in the game. The Bucks drop to 4-4 on the year, with a road game at Detroit Friday.


MLB:


World Series (Game 7)


Houston 5, LA Dodgers 1

--The Astros are World Series Champions for the first time in franchise history. George Springer doubled to lead off the game and homered for the fourth game in a row and the fifth time in the series in the second inning to make the lead 5-0 and chase Dodgers starter Yu Darvish from the game. Springer was named World Series MVP
