–A seven-run bottom of the eighth inning helped the Nationals win game two of their series against the Brewers on Wednesday night. Milwaukee led 2-1 going into the eighth before the Nationals made their surge against the Brewers bullpen. Starter Jimmy Nelson pitched well, allowing just two runs on four hits while striking out 10. Jacob Barnes took the loss in relief. With the loss, the Brewers fall a half game behind the Cubs in the NL Central standings. The final game of the series is this morning, pregame is 10:30 am, first pitch is scheduled for 11:05 am on KFIZ. Michael Blazek goes for Milwaukee while Washington counters with ace Max Scherzer.

MLB News:

The Brewers have acquired right handed reliever Anthony Swarzak from the Chicago White Sox in exchange for outfielder Ryan Cordell. Swarzak was 4-3 with a 2.23 ERA and one save in 41 appearances for Chicago. He’s posted a .56 ERA in his last 14 outings, while holding opponents to a .193 batting average. Cordell was obtained by Milwaukee from Texas in last year’s trade for Jonathan Lucroy. He was hitting .284 with 10 home runs and 45 RBI with Triple-A Colorado Springs this year.

NFL: The Packers hit the practice field today for their first practice of training camp. The first practice begins at 8:15 this morning at Ray Nitschke Field in Green Bay. The team will practice the next three days at 8:15 am.
