National League:


Milwaukee 6, St. Louis 5

--Domingo Santana and Jonathan Villar homered and Keon Broxton ended the game with a clutch defensive play as the Brewers downed St. Louis to split the two-game series at Miller Park on Wednesday. Santana and Villar’s long balls in the 6th broke a 3-3 tie and helped the Brewers secure the win. Chase Anderson earned the win on the mound, allowing three runs on two hits in six innings of work. Corey Knebel picked up his 30th save of the season with help from Broxton’s highlight reel robbery of a home run off the bat of Randal Grichuk to end the game.


Milwaukee opens a four-game series with Washington tonight at Miller Park. Zach Davies gets the start for Milwaukee while the Nationals will send Gio Gonzalez to the mound. First pitch is 7:10 pm, no broadcast on KFIZ due to Packers Football.


Chicago Cubs 17, Pittsburgh 3

--The Cubs had 20 hits, including a pair of home runs from Kyle Schwarber in the win. Their lead is 3 & ½ games over the Brewers in the NL Central.

--Eddie Rosario blasted a pair of home runs in the win for the Twins

NFL:


The Packers have agreed to terms with free-agent linebacker Ahmad Brooks. The news was first reported by NFL.com. Brooks was released by San Francisco last week after eight seasons with the 49ers. Sources place the deal at one year, worth up to $3.5 million. Brooks has career total of 290 tackles in 133 games with San Francisco and Cincinnati with 53 and ½ sacks. He was signed to provide depth behind starters Clay Matthews and Nick Perry at outside linebacker.


The Packers host the Los Angeles Rams in their final preseason game at Lambeau Field tonight. Coverage on the Packers Radio Network begins at 4pm, kickoff at 6pm on KFIZ.
