The high school football
season kicks off on Friday night, but we’ll get a jump on that tonight as we
bring you the KFIZ High School Football Preview Show starting at 5:30pm.  We’ll breakdown the season with area coaches
and also take a look at high school football across the state of Wisconsin.  Fondy opens the season on Friday night at
Appleton North.  You’ll hear that one on
News-Talk 1450 KFIZ.

Fond du Lac High School
Senior Peter Andrew and St. Mary’s Springs senior Dominic Belisle have been
named to the Wissports.net “Watch List” for the Joe Thomas Award, which is
given annually to the top senior offensive lineman in the state of Wisconsin.

The Fond du Lac Girls Tennis team went 2-1 at the
Oshkosh North Invite.  The #3 double team
of Lydia
Dean and Kendalynn Acheson went 3-0 at the event.

A five run 6th
inning lifted the Toronto Blue Jays to a 9-5 win over the Brewers on Wednesday
afternoon at Miller
Park
.  RA Dickey went five and two-thirds innings to
notch the win while Jimmy Nelson took the loss.
Carlos Gomez hit his 21st homer of the season in the loss. The
Brewers take the day off today and open up a weekend series with Pittsburgh at Miller
Park
on Friday night.

StL 7 Cin 3

Pit 3 Atl 2

SF 8 Cubs 3

The Cardinals win moves them
to within 1.5 games of the Brewers in the N.L. Central.

The San Francisco Giants and
Chicago Cubs will resume a game that was called after 4.5 innings on Tuesday
night with the Cubs winning 2-0.  The
Giants protested the game saying the Cubs grounds crew screwed up the placing
of the tarp which made the field unplayable.
Major League Baseball agreed and that game will be resumed this
afternoon.  It’s the first successful
protest since 1986.

The Packers will host Oakland on Friday night at
Lambeau in preseason game #3.  Mike
McCarthy wasn’t sure how much his starters including Aaron Rodgers will
play.  He does say it will be more than
the 1 series Rodgers played in last year’s 3rd preseason game, which
traditionally has been a dress rehearsal for the regular season opener.
