The
San Diego Padres rallied to a 3-2 win over the Brewers last night.   Catcher Rene Rivera homered off of Francisco
Rodriguez in the bottom of the 9th and then singled home the game
winner in the 10th off of Zach Duke to win it. Yovani Gallardo
settles for a no decision after giving up just 3 hits in six scoreless innings
of work.   Ron Roenicke was ejected in
the 9th inning for arguing balls and strikes.  The Brewers take today off and open up a
three game weekend series on Friday night in San Francisco

With
the Cardinal loss, the Brewers still hold a 1.5 game lead in the N.L.
Central.  The Pirates inch to 4 games
back in the standings. 

 

The
Packers wrap up the preseason tonight as they host Kansas City at Lambeau Field.  You wont see much of any of the
starters.   At quarterback Matt Flynn and
Scott Tolzien will get most of the snaps as they fight it out for the backup
quarterback spot behind Aaron Rodgers. 
Coverage begins at 4pm with the kickoff set for 6pm on KFIZ.

 

All
32 teams are in action tonight across the NFL with final roster cuts do this
weekend.   The regular season opens up a
week from tonight as the Packers head to Super Bowl Champion Seattle.

 

The
Wisconsin Badger football team opens the season in Houston on Saturday night against LSU.  Coverage begins at 6pm with the kickoff set
for 8pm on News-Talk 1450 KFIZ.

 

There’s
a full slate of college football games on the schedule tonight including #9
South Carolina hosting #21 Texas A&M and Boise State at #18 Ole Miss.

Dog Media.  On KFIZ, Fond du Lac hosts Appleton West on Hall of
Fame Night at Fruth. Coverage begins at 5:30pm with the Tim Cruz Agency,
American Family Insurance Pregame Show. 
The kickoff is set for 7pm.  Over
on K107.1, St. Mary’s Springs travels to Wautoma.  The kickoff is set for 7pm presented by BCI
