The Brewers won their 2nd
straight game with an 8-5 decision over the San Diego Padres on Wednesday night
at Miller Park
Taylor Jungmann struck out 8 and gave up just 2 runs and six hits over
seven innings to notch the win.  Francisco
Rodriguez got the final out for his 25th save.  Jonathan Lucroy clubbed his 4th homer
of the season in the win. The series wraps up this afternoon as Matt Garza gets
the start for the Crew.  Coverage begins

After taking Wednesday off,
the Packers are back on the practice field today.  Green
Bay
will workout at 8:20am this morning and Friday
morning before Saturday night’s Family Night Scrimmage.  The morning practices are open to the public.

 

Final preparations are going
on at Whistling Straits in Haven for next week’s PGA Championships.   Some players are coming in this weekend to
get a jump their preparation for the unique links-style course.   If you’re a fan, the merchandise tent is set
to open up this weekend.

 

High school football teams
across the state area about two weeks away from opening the 2015 season.  The Fond
du Lac
football team is coming off of a 10-2 season
that saw them reach level three of the post season.  Cardinal coach Mike Gnewuch says he has a
good group of guys that are working hard. 
He adds that being ranked #8 in the preseason top 10 poll is nice but
they still have work to do.  Fond du Lac will open the
season on Friday, August 21st at Appleton East.  You’ll hear it on News-Talk 1450 KFIZ.

St. Mary’s Springs is preparing for defense of their
Division Six State Football Championship. 
Ledger head coach Bob Hyland tells KFIZ that his offense has looked
sharp early in camp.  St.
Mary’s Springs returns just two starters on defense this year.  The Ledgers open up the season on Thursday,
August 20th at perennial state power Shiocton.  You’ll hear that game on News-Talk 1450 KFIZ.
