The Wisconsin Badgers won their 2nd straight bowl
game with a 23-21 win over USC at the Holiday Bowl in San Diego
Rafael Gaglianone’s 29 yard field goal with 2:27 left in the 4th
quarter gave UW the lead and the Badger defense held firm down the stretch to
secure the Badgers bowl victory.  QB Joel
Stave threw for 217 yards and a TD and was named the game’s Offensive MVP.  Linebacker Jack Cichy was voted the Defensive
MVP for his 3 sack 2nd half. 
The win is Stave’s 31st as a UW starter. That’s the most by a
QB in school history. Wisconsin
finishes the season at 10-3 under 1st year head coach Paul Chryst.

 

The Semifinals of the College Football Playofs are
today.   This afternoon at 4pm, central,
#4 Oklahoma plays #1 Clemson at the Orange Bowl
in Miami.  #3 Michigan
State will face #2 Alabama
at the Cotton Bowl in North Texas at 8pm
tonight.  The winners will play for the
National Championship on January 11th in Glendale, Arizona.

 

The Packers look to win the NFC North championship on Sunday
night when they host Minnesota.  The winner will get a home game in the Wild
Card round of the NFL Playoffs. The loser will go on the road to either
Washington or host a rematch between the two teams.  You’ll hear Sunday night’s game on KFIZ.  Coverage begins at 5pm with the kickoff set
for 7:30pm.

 

With the Packers in primetime, you’ll hear the New York Jets
travel to Buffalo
with a chance to earn a playoff spot as well on KFIZ.  Coverage begins at 11:30am on KFIZ.

Eve matchup with the Pacers tonight.

Manitowoc Roncalli beat the St.
Mary’s Springs boys basketball team 67-54. 
Ricky Stoegbauer paced the Ledgers with 15.

 

St. Mary’s Springs boys hockey
team fell to Janesville
6-1 on Wednesday night.

 

The Fondy-Waupun girls hockey
team won the Chippewa Falls Tournament with a 4-2 win over Rock County
on Wednesday.  The Warbirds are now
10-1-1 on the season.

 

The Fond du Lac wrestling team was 25th
at the Oshkosh Lourdes event on Wednesday.   
At 145, Josh Adams finished 2nd.  At 285, Donte Johnson finished in 4th
place.
