The Badger men’s basketball
team picked up a 55-47 win at Penn
State
on Wednesday
night.  Sam Dekker had a career high 22
points.  Frank Kaminsky had 16 points and
9 rebounds.  The Badgers host Minnesota on Saturday
morning at 11am.

 

The big game in college hoops
last night saw #4 Duke edge #15 North
Carolina
92-90 in overtime.

 

Greg Mays scored 34 and
Kiefer Sykes 23 as UW-Green Bay stopped Detroit 96-76 at the Resch Center.  The Phoenix
host Cleveland State on Friday night.

 

Concordia, WI edged the Marian
men’s basketball team 62-60 on Wednesday night down in Mequon
Mike Keller and Josh Creed each had 12. 
The loss leaves the Sabres at 10-10 in NACC play.  It also settles them in at the #8 seed in the
NACC Tournament.  They will travel to #1
seed Aurora for
the first round of the conference tournament on Saturday.  That game will tip at 2pm.

 

The Ripon men lost to Beloit 64-54.  The Ripon women fell to Beloit 62-49 last night.

 

The Cardinal Stritch men’s
basketball team coached by Fondy native Drew Diener fell at Olivet Nazarene
94-85 last night.  That leaves the Wolves
tied for first place in league play.  Fond du Lac high alum
Tony Smit had 33 points in the loss.

 

UW-Milwaukee is in action
tonight as they travel to Illinois-Chicago. 
The tip is set for 7pm

 

The Bucks are reportedly
ready to part ways with troubled big man Larry Sanders.  He hasn’t played since before Christmas
because of injury, personal reasons and suspension.  The team has reportedly worked out a buyout
of $13 million dollars to get out of his 4-year, $44 million dollar extension
that he had signed.

 

The Minnesota Vikings have
claimed former Packer tight end Brandon Bostick off of waivers.

 

NASCAR is moving closer to
Sunday’s season opening Daytona 500 with tonight’s Budweiser Duels. 

 

 

 

The WIAA State Hockey
Tournament continues tonight as both St. Mary’s Springs and Fond du Lac will host 2nd round
games at the Blue Line.  The Ledgers are
a #3 seed and will host Brookfield
at 5:30pm.  Fond du
Lac
is the #4 seed and takes on Homestead tonight at 8pm.  The Sectional Semifinals will be played next
Tuesday.

 

The Fondy-Waupun girls hockey
team opens up playoff action tonight on the road at Waupaca.  The puck drops at 7pm.
