Driver Retires

Packers wide receiver Donald Driver officially retired from football after 14 seasons on Wednesday.  About 1500 fans showed up to the Lambeau Field Atrium for the event which Packer officials, the Green Bay Mayor and Governor Scott Walker spoke.  The city of Green Bay announced that a street would be changed to Donald Driver Way and the legendary Packer statue outside of the Titletown Brewery would be redone to honor #80. 

 

Badgers Win in 2OT

The Wisconsin Badgers snapped a three game losing skid to Iowa with a 74-70 win in double-overtime on Wednesday night.  Ben Brust led UW with 18 points.  The Badgers host #3 Michigan on Saturday morning.

 

Golden Eagles Win

Marquette stayed in a first place tie on top of the Big East with a 70-47 win at South Florida on Wednesday night.  Todd Mayo and Vander Blue each had 13.  The Golden Eagles are tied with Syracuse for the Big East lead with a 7-2 mark.

Bucks Lose

The Utah Jazz beat the Bucks 100-86 in Salt Lake City last night.  Brandon Jennings and Ersan Ilyasova paced the Bucks with 17 points each. 

 

Badger Signing Day

New Badger coach Gary Andersen’s first recruiting class included 17 players and two walk-ons.  Wednesday was national signing day for college recruits. His class also included a pair of junior college players, which Brett Bielema rarely went to during his tenure.  Just three players who verbally committed for Bielema went to other schools than UW.
