The Cardinals
took the series finale with the Brewers on Wednesday afternoon with a 9-3
victory at Busch Stadium.  Matt Garza
left the game in the 4th inning with a bruised thumb and with a thin
bullpen    .Wei-Chung Wang gave up four
runs in 3 innings of work.  Zach Duke got
the Crew through the 7th and catcher Martin Maldonado pitched a
scoreless 8th to get Milwaukee
through the game.  Mark Reynolds and
Carlos Gomez homered in a losing effort for The Crew.  Milwaukee
leads the Cardinals by 5.5 games in the N.L. Central.  The Brewers open up a four game weekend
series in Cincinnati
tonight.  Marco Estrada takes on Homer
Bailey.  Coverage begins at 5:35pm on

Packers
linebacker Jamari Lattimore signed his one-year restricted free agent tender
with the team and will be back in 2014.

 

The St. Mary’s Springs
golf team had a great showing at the 26 team Oriole-Ledger Invitational at Rolling Meadows on
Wednesday.  St.
Mary’s Springs won the Division Two event with a score of 324.  That was the low score of all three
divisions.  Brady Sarauer paced SMSA with
a 74.  Patrick Treichel added a 75.  WLA won the Division 1 event and Viking
sophomore Chris Colla was the meet medalist with a one-under par 71.   Madison Abundant life won the D3 event.

 

Fond du Lac competed down at the Brookfield Central Invite
on Wednesday.  The Cardinals had a
369.  Homestead won the event with a 305.  Matt Dilling paced Fondy with an 84.  Marcus Ruch had a 90.
