The Fond du Lac Boys Volleyball team has learned their first round opponent for the upcoming WIAA playoffs. The Cardinals will travel to Homestead High School in Mequon next Friday, October 28th, for a regional game. The winner will play top-seeded Germantown on Tuesday, November 1st.

Seven Packers players have been ruled out of tonight’s game against the Bears at Lambeau Field. That list includes running backs Eddie Lacy (ankle), James Starks (knee), cornerbacks Damarious Randall and Quentin Rollins both with groin injuries, tight end Jared Cook (ankle), safety Chris Banjo (hamstring) and wide receiver Jared Abbrederis (quadriceps). Pregame is at 5pm, kickoff around 7:25, hear the game on KFIZ.

The Badgers will face the Iowa Hawkeyes on Saturday in Iowa City. The Hawkeyes are coming off a win over Purdue last week, 49-35 in West Lafayette. The Hawkeyes lost two of their first five games of the year, to North Dakota State and Northwestern. Head Coach Kirk Ferentz says they worked to fix the run defense since those games and knows in the Big Ten you won’t win games consistently giving up big plays on the ground.

MLB:

The Cleveland Indians advance to the World Series for the first time since 1997, with a 3-0 win over the Toronto Blue Jays in game 5 of the American League Championship Series. Cleveland wins the series 4-1 and will face the winner of the Dodgers/Cubs NLCS series. Game one of the World Series is Tuesday.

NLCS: Cubs 10, Dodgers 2. Anthony Rizzo went 3 for 5 with 3 RBI as Chicago pounded out 13 hits in the win. The Cubs even the series at 2-2.Game five is tonight in LA.

The Bucks win in their preseason finale, 111-103 at the Bradley Center over Indiana. Giannis Antetokounmpo had 20, Jabari Parker had 19. Milwaukee finishes with a 3-3 preseason record. The season opener comes up next Wednesday at home against Charlotte.
