Johnny Cueto threw a complete game two hitter as the Kansas City Royals beat the New York Mets 7-1 on Thursday night.  Alcides Escobar and Eric Hosmer each drove in
a pair as the Royals go up 2-0 in the best of seven series.  Game 3 is Friday night in New York.

 

The Bucks got thumped by the New York Knicks in their season opener

night.  Greg Monroe had 22 points and 14
rebounds in his Bucks debut. Michael Carter-Williams added 20.  The Bucks host Washington on Friday night.

State Cross Country on Saturday

A handful of local runners have qualified
for the state cross country meet this Saturday in Wisconsin Rapids.  In Division One, Fond du Lac’s Annie Moore and Ally Gietzel
will be running.   In Division Two,
Waupun’s Hannah Smith and Lomira’s Kaytlin Kuczkowski will be running.  For the boys in D2, Waupun’s Kyle Smith and
Ripon’s Seth Zimdar have made it to state.
