The Packers already know three players will not be available for Sunday’s game with Detroit at Lambeau Field.  DB Casey Hayward, RB James Starks, and OL Greg Van Roten are all listed as out for Sunday’s matchup.  The Packers have beaten the Lions 22 straight times in the state of Wisconsin.  Coverage begins at 10am with the kickoff at Noon on News-Talk 1450 KFIZ and streaming at kfiz.com.


Week 5 of the NFL season begins tonight at Buffalo travels to Cleveland.  Coverage begins at 7pm on News-Talk 1450 KFIZ.


The Tampa Bay Rays blanked the Cleveland Indians 4-0 on Wednesday night to win the American League Wild Card Game.  Alex Cobb gave up 8 hits and no runs in six and two-thirds innings of work.  The Rays travel to Boston of Game One of the ALDS on Friday night.


The National League Division Series begin today St. Louis hosts Pittsburgh at 4pm.  Atlanta hosts the Dodgers at 7:30pm.  The Division Series are best of five affairs.   


Despite the government shut-down it looks like Army, Navy and Air Force will be allowed to play college football games this weekend.  There was talk that those games would be cancelled because of the goings on in Washington, but the Air Force-Navy game and Boston College-Army matchup will go on as scheduled with approval from the secretary of defense.


The Brewers have placed 1B Mat Gamel and infielder Taylor Greene on waivers.  Both players missed the season because of injury.  The move was made so the team would not have to restore them back on the active 40 man roster.  If the players clear waivers they could be resigned to minor league deals.


The Fond du Lac girls golf team’s season came to an end with an 8th place finish at the Sheboygan Regional played at Town & Country Golf Course on Wednesday.  The Cardinals Shania Schibbelhut shot a 102 and won a two hole playoff to advance to the Sectional as in individual qualifier.


We’ve got three high school football games this week at Mountain Dog Media.  On Friday night, Fond du Lac hosts Oshkosh West at Fruth Field.  Coverage begins at 5:30pm with the kickoff at 7pm on KFIZ and kfiz.com.  Also on Friday night, St. Mary’s Springs travels to North Fond du Lac.  You’ll hear it on K107.1-FM presented by BCI Burke Company.  On Saturday, WLA hosts KML for Homecoming.  You’ll hear it on KFIZ.  Coverage begins at 12:30pm with the kickoff set for 1pm.
