Several area high school football players have been named to All-Region teams by the Wisconsin Football Coaches Association. From Fond du Lac High School, defensive lineman Donte Johnson, inside linebacker Devon Krzanowski and offensive lineman Ben Rusch were named to the all-northeast region team. From St. Mary’s Springs Academy, Offensive Lineman/Defensive Lineman Michael Buetow and Running Back Fintan Floyd were named to the all South Central Region team. Also making the South Central region team were inside linebacker Tanner Haase of Winnebago Lutheran and Utility Player Jake Beattie of Laconia.

The Hierl Insurance High School Team of the Week is the St. Mary’s Springs Football team. The Ledgers dominated Ozaukee 37-14 in level 3 of the WIAA Playoffs to advance to level four/state semifinals. There they will face the Darlington Redbirds, which will be the fourth year in a row the teams have met in the playoffs. The last two years was in the state championship game, with Springs winning both. Darlington won a level four matchup in 2013. Gametime this Friday is 7pm at Waukesha North High School.

Packers Defensive Lineman Mike Daniels isn’t apologizing after an explosive rant that took place in the showers just after the Packers lost to Indianapolis on Sunday. Daniels retreated into the showers following the game and unleashed his frustration after a sluggish performance against the Colts. Daniels said the whole team is upset with how they’ve played and he says they have to figure out a way to fix it. He says it doesn’t matter how, they have to come together as a team.

Monday Night Football: Seattle defeated the Buffalo Bills 31-25 in Seattle. The Seahawks stopped the Buffalo offense on 4th & goal with 20 seconds left to preserve the win. Russell Wilson threw for 282 yards and two touchdowns to Jimmy Graham in the win.

The Badgers head into this weekend’s game ranked 7th in the nation in both the USA Today Coaches Poll and the Associated Press Top 25. The Badgers will learn where they sit in the College Football Playoff Rankings tonight. Despite the national attention, Head Coach Paul Chryst says he likes how the team is approaching each week. The Badgers face Illinois this week, who are led by Lovie Smith. Chryst says he’s sure that Lovie has made an impact so far on the Illini and that they have a lot of talent on their team.
