Area boys basketball players were named to the Wisconsin Basketball Coaches Association All-State teams in their respective divisions on Monday.

In Division One, Fond du Lac senior guard Luke Loewe was named to the All-State team. Loewe averaged 20.1 points per game, in helping the Cardinals to a 15-9 overall record.

In Division 3, Ripon seniors Bennett Vander Plas and Eddie Muench along with Waupun sophomore Marcus Domask were named to the All-State team, while New Holstein senior Nolan Beirne was named honorable mention all-state in D3.

In Division 4, Laconia senior Drew Gunnink was named to the All-State team. Gunnink averaged 19 points per game in his final season playing for the Spartans, helping lead them to the Flyway Conference title.

Men’s College Basketball:

Junior guard Duane Wilson is leaving Marquette and plans to transfer to another school as a graduate student for his final year of eligibility.

The Milwaukee native leaves his hometown program after three seasons. He averaged 4.8 points over 30 games this season, making seven starts.

Wilson is on track to graduate from Marquette in May and would be eligible to play with a new team this fall. His playing time had decreased since his freshman year in 2014-15, which was Steve Wojciechowski’s first year as coach. Wilson averaged 11.9 points that season, when he started 29 of 32 games.

The Fond du Lac Dock Spiders and Manager Zac Charbonneau have announced the first 20 players for their roster that will compete in the Northwoods League this summer. The initial roster includes pitcher Jack Collins from Central Michigan University, who hails from Denmark, Wisconsin along with left hander Adam Eck who pitches for Edgewood College in Madison. The first group of position players on the Dock Spiders’ roster includes players from Missouri, Oklahoma State, Creighton, Kansas and Mississippi among others. MLB: The Brewers are back in action in the Cactus League after a day off. They’ll face the Dodgers this afternoon at 3:05 pm.

Tom Brady’s missing Super Bowl jersey has been found in Mexico six weeks after it vanished from the Patriots’ locker room — but the mystery isn’t over. The NFL said the jersey was found in “possession of a credentialed member of the international media,” and authorities were investigating Monday whether a former Mexican tabloid newspaper executive played a role in the theft.
