Boston Bombing Felt In Sports World

Not only did the bombings at the Boston Marathon affect the race, but also many others involved in the sporting world.  The Boston Celtics game with the Indiana Pacers was cancelled and will not be made up. The Boston Bruins were supposed to host Ottawa that was postponed.  The Boston Red Sox game with Tampa Bay was over about an hour before the bombing and the Rays were able to get out of town. Organizers for other marathons in New York and London have already announced they are reviewing and increasing security.  They had a moment of silence for the victims before the Bucks games last night in Milwaukee and venues across the world.

Former Packers Helps Out

Former Green Bay Packer offensive linemen Joe Andruzzi, who went on to win three Super Bowls with New England was at the finish line raising money for cancer research when the bombings took place. Photos were taken as Andruzzi carried victims out of danger area.  Andruzzi played for the Packers from 1997 to 2000.

Bucks Fall

Ty Lawson’s hoop with less than 10 seconds left gave the Denver Nuggets a 112-111 win over the Bucks last night at the BMO Harris Bradley Center.   JJ Reddick’s three-point attempt at the buzzer was no good.  Monta Ellis scored 19 of his 38 in the 4th quarter.  The loss drops the Bucks to 37-44 on the season.  The regular season wraps up on Wednesday night in Oklahoma City.

The Brewers open up a six game homestead tonight as the San Francisco Giants come to town.  Wily Peralta takes on Barry Zito in game one of the three game series. Coverage begins at 6:35pm on KFIZ.
