The Packers confirmed the
worse on Monday by announcing that wide receiver Jordy Nelson sustained a
significant knee injury and will miss the remainder of the season.  Nelson had 98 catches for 1,519 yards and 13
touchdowns last season for the Packers.

 

The Packers have a 12:30pm
workout scheduled for this afternoon as they get ready for Saturday night’s
preseason game with Philadelphia
at Lambeau Field.

 

The Brewers open up a quick
two game series in Cleveland
tonight.  Wily Peralta will take on Josh
Tomlin tonight.  Coverage begins at
5:35pm on KFIZ with the 1st pitch set for 6:10pm.

IndyCar driver Justin Wilson
died on Monday from injuries suffered after getting hit in the head by debris
during Sunday’s race at Pocono.  He was
37-years-old.

football team is ranked #4 in the 1st Associated Press Large Schools
Poll.  St. Mary’s Springs Academy
is ranked #1 in the Small Schools Poll. 
Kimberly is ranked #1 in the Large Schools poll.  Waukesha Catholic Memorial is #1 in the Medium School’s
poll.

 

We’ve got a pair of high
school football games this weekend on News-Talk 1450 KFIZ.  On Friday night, it’s Hall of Fame Night as Fond du Lac hosts
Kaukauna at Fruth Field for game that kicks off at 7pm.  On Saturday afternoon St. Mary’s Springs will
play host to Amherst in a game that features a
pair of teams picked by many to get to the state finals in Madison
That game kicks off at 1pm.
