The Packers kicking
competition is down to two.  The team cut
Giorgio Tavecchio on Monday. That leaves them with veteran Mason Crosby and Zach
Ramirez.  The Packers will travel to Kansas City on Thursday

Badgers

The Badgers two-deep depth
chart has been released and we still don’t’ have an answer as to who’s the #1
quarterback.  The release lists the #1 QB
as Joel Stave OR Curt Phillips.  The
Badgers open the season against UMass on Saturday.  You’ll hear it on KFIZ.  Coverage begins at 9am with the kickoff at
11am. 

 

Badger Hoops

The Wisconsin Badger men’s
basketball team finished up their Canadian tour with a 113-105 overtime win
over A-Game Hoops in Toronto.  Frank Kaminsky scored 25 and Sam Dekker 23 in
the win.  UW went 4-1 on the trip and won
their final four games.

 

Brewers

The Brewers open up a three
game series in Pittsburgh
tonight.  The Pirates are a half game
behind St. Louis
in the NL Central standings. The Brewers are 19.5 games back at 57-73.  Kyle Lohse takes on Jeff Locke.  Coverage begins at 5:30pm on News-Talk 1450

Prep Rankings

The Associated Press has
released their first High School Football Rankings of the year.  Hartland Arrowhead is the unanimous #1 team
in the Large Schools Poll.  Kimberly, Fond du Lac’s opponent on
Friday night is #2.  Appleton North who
beat Fond du Lac
in the opener is #5. Stevens Point
who Fondy plays in Week 4 is 7th.  Marshfield,
Fondy’s opponent in Week 3 is ranked #23. 
West DePere is the top team in the Medium Schools Poll.  Chilton is ranked 18th.  In the Small Schools Poll, Edgar is #1
despite not getting any first place votes..  St. Mary’s
Springs received 6 first place votes but comes in at #2.  Lancaster
got 1 over the other first place votes and Amherst the other two.
