McCarthy Meets Media

Packers head coach Mike McCarthy will meet the media later today at 4pm for the final time this season.  We’re not sure how much we’ll learn from the coach about potential comings and goings on his roster or his coaching staff.   The NFL announced on Monday that the Packers coaching staff will coach the NFC in the Pro Bowl starting next week in Hawaii.  The Packers will also pick 26th in next Springs’ NFL Draft.

Thompson On Dorsey

John Dorsey was officially introduced as the new general manager of the Kansas City Chiefs on Monday.  Packers GM Ted Thompson released the following statement. “I would like to thank John Dorsey for his 27 years of service to the Green Bay Packers. First as a player, and later as a member of the personnel department, John has been a loyal member of the Packers family and the Green Bay community for more than half of his life. The Chiefs have hired a good man and John has earned this opportunity. We wish John and his family all the best.”

Packers Add 8 Active Roster

The Green Bay Packers signed TE Brandon Bostick, QB B.J. Coleman, T Andrew Datko, C Garth Gerhart, G Joe Gibbs, LB Micah Johnson, CB James Nixon and S Chaz Powell. The transactions were announced Monday by Executive Vice President, General Manager and Director of Football Operations Ted Thompson. All eight players finished the 2012 season on the Packers’ practice squad.

Badgers Battle Hoosiers

The Wisconsin Badger men’s basketball team will take on 2nd ranked Indiana tonight in Bloomington.  Coverage begins at 7pm with the tip at 8pm.  UW’s Sam Dekker is the Big Ten’s Freshman of the Week.

Jennings Honored

The Bucks Brandon Jennings has been named the NBA’s Eastern Conference Player of the Week.  He averaged 24 points and 6 assists last week.  It’s the 3rd time he’s won the award.  The Bucks are in Los Angeles to take on the Lakers tonight.  We’ll join that game in progress after Badger basketball on KFIZ.
