Burnett Signs

The Green Bay Packers have a laundry list free agents to be after the upcoming season including; BJ Raji, James Jones, and Jermichael Finley.  GM Ted Thompson decided to take care of safety Morgan Burnett first.  Reports say the 3rd year player has started all 16 games the last two seasons after missing most of his rookie year with a knee injury.   It’s said to be a four year deal worth as much as $26 million dollars.


All-Star Game

The stars of Major League Baseball are in New York for tonight’s All-Star Game at Citi Field.  Detroit’s Max Scherzer who is 13-0 on the season gets the start for the American League while the Mets Matt Harvey starts on his home field for the NL.  The Brewers Carlos Gomez and Jean Segura will come off the bench for the National League.  It’s the first time since 1964 that the Mets have played host to the Mid-Summer Classic. 


Home Run Derby

Oakland’s Yoenis Cespedes won the Home Run Derby on Monday night.  The A’s slugger is the first player not in the All-Star Game to win the event.  He beat Washington’s Bryce Harper in the finals.  Last year’s champion Prince Fielder did not make it out of the first round.


Jennings On The Move?

Sporting News reports that Bucks guard Brandon Jennings does not want to return to the Milwaukee Bucks.  The restricted free agent has not see much interest on the market this offseason.  Gary Woelfel of the Racine Journal-Times says Detroit might be interested in a sign and trade deal for Jennings.


Bucks Summer League

The Bucks take a 2-0 record into tonight’s Las Vegas Summer League game against Golden State.  The 22 team league switches to a single elimination tournament to determine a league champion on Wednesday.


WIAA Summer Baseball

Kewaskum’s bid to make it to the WIAA Summer Baseball Tournament came up just short in Campbellsport on Monday.  Kewaskum stopped EWC champ Plymouth 4-0 but lost to Sheboygan Falls in the Sectional Final 3-1.


DeBerry Goes South

One of Wisconsin’s top senior high school basketball players is leaving the state of Wisconsin for his final year of high school basketball.  Destiny’s Jerrelle DeBerry posted on Twitter on Monday that he will attend a school in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.  He averaged 25 points and 11 rebounds last season, which came to an end at the hands of the Laconia Spartans in the WIAA playoffs.
