Brewers Win Again

The Brewers won their 4th straight with a 6-1 win over the Miami Marlins last night.  Jonathan Lucroy had 4 hits and  Rickie Weeks collected three hits including a home run in the win.  Yovani Gallardo gave up no runs and just four hits in 8 innings of work to notch the win. Gallardo had 4 strikeouts and became the third Brewers in history to tally 1000 K’s during his career.  Donovan Hand gave up one run in the 9th. The series continues tonight as Wily Peralta takes on Jacob Turner.  Coverage begins at 5:35pm on KFIZ.

 

Braun Sits

Ryan Braun sat out last night and may sit out the entire series in Miami as he nurses an ailing thumb.  Braun can’t swing a bat right now so rest is needed.

O’Brien Leaves UW

Badger quarterback Danny O’Brien has left the University of Wisconsin after less than one year in the program. O’Brien transferred from Maryland and started three games for the Badgers before getting benched for Joel Stave.  He would most likely be 5th on the depth chart went the season begins so he decided to move on.

 

Packers OTAs

The Packers begins another three day batch of organized team activities today.  This morning’s workout at 11:30am will be open to the public on the Clark Hinkle Field as long as weather permits.

 

Tebow To Pats

The New England Patriots have signed quarterback Tim Tebow to a contract. There were many that thought his NFL career might be over after being cut by the New York Jets.

 

NBA Finals

It’s Game 3 of the NBA Finals tonight as San Antonio hosts Miami.  The series is tied 1-1.

 

NBA Coaches

The Detroit Pistons have hired Oklahoma City assistant Maurice Cheeks as their new head coach.  The Memphis Grizzlies say they won’t offer a new contract to current head coach Lionel Hollins.

 

WIAA State Baseball

The WIAA State Spring Baseball Tournament begins today with Division One quarterfinal and semifinal action at Fox Cities Stadium in Appleton.  The Division 4, 3, and 2 will be Wednesday with the state title games on Thursday.  Waupun will play Lodi on Wednesday night at about 8:15pm in a D2 Semifinal.
