Matt Garza
struck out 8 in six and a third scoreless innings last night in a 6-2 win by
the Brewers over the Twins.  Mark
Reynolds and Jonathan Lucroy each homered in the victory.  The win improves Milwaukee to 35-23 on the season.  They lead St. Louis by 5 games in the N.L. Central. The
series continues tonight as Yovani Gallardo gets the start for the
Brewers.  Coverage begins at 6:35pm with
the first pitch set for 7:10pm on KFIZ

The Packers
begin their 2nd wave of Organized Team Activities this afternoon in Green Bay.  Today’s workout is set for 11:30am at the team
practice facility.

 

New Fond du Lac boys
basketball coach Mark Ziebell joined me on the Breakfast Club on Monday
morning.  Ziebell says that he is excited
to get the job in Fondy and he realized that cupboard isn’t bear and he will
have some talent to work with..  He also
says he understands how basketball is woven throughout the community and to be
heading that up is a tremendous honor and he’s looking forward to it.

The WIAA Golf
Tournament continues over the next two days with Sectional action across the
state.  In Division One today, Fond du Lac’s Marcus Ruch and Matt Diilling will play in
the Manitowoc Sectional at Branch

.  In the Division Two Seymour Sectional at Crystal Springs
both the WLA and North Fond du Lac teams will
be competing.  In Division Three today in
the Markesan Sectional at Lawsonia CWC’s Jake Thompson and Logan Ganz will be
competing. St. Mary’s Springs send their whole team to the D3 Kohler Sectional
at Black Wolf Run on Wednesday. 
Oakfield’s Rollin Petersen and Trenton Vielbig will also be at Kohler.  In a Division Two River Valley Sectional at
House on the Rock on Wednesday, the Waupun and Campbellsport teams will be
competing along with Lomira’s Anson Bautista.

Fond du Lac had four players named to the All-FVA
girls softball team.  Centerfielder
MaKenna Mitchell, SS Hannah Grahl, P Andra O’Brien, and utility player Taylor
Rushing were all named Honorable Mention all-league.
