Gomez & Brewers Rob Reds Of Win

All-Star Carlos Gomez saved the day for the Brewers last night in a 4-3 win over the Reds.  Joey Votto drove a Francisco Rodriguez pitch deep to center field with two outs but Gomez leaped over the wall to rob him of a homer and preserve the lead and the win.   Kyle Lohse pitched into the 7th inning and gave up just three runs to earn the win. K-Rod gets the save.  Jonathan Lucroy socked his 11th homer in the win. The series continues tonight as Wily Peralta gets the start for Milwaukee.  Coverage begins at 6:35pm on KFIZ.

Braun Active…Ramirez Not

The Brewers activated LF Ryan Braun from the disabled list.  Braun has been nursing a sore thumb and he was available last night to pinch hit.  To make room on the roster, 3B Aramis Ramirez was placed on the 15-day DL with a sore knee.

He still must select one more player.  The Mets David Wright has chosen Washington’s Bryce Harper, and Colorado’s Michael Cuddyer, and Carlos Gonzalez.  The Home Run Derby is next Monday in New York.
