UW-Milwaukee is in Dayton, Ohio tonight to
face Wright State in the Horizon League Tournament
Championship Game.  A win by Rob Jeter’s
squad puts them in the NCAA Tournament.  

 

Delaware, Manhattan, and Wofford punched their tickets
to the NCAA Tournament last night.

 

The Badgers dropped from
#9 to #12 in this week’s AP College Basketball Poll as they prepare for the Big
Ten Tournament.  Wisconsin
will play either Penn State or Minnesota
on Friday at 5:30pm.  You’ll hear it on News-Talk
1450 KFIZ.

 

Badger big man Frank
Kaminsky was named a consensus First Team All-Big Ten player on Monday.  Nigel Hayes was named the 6th man
of the year and to the All-Freshman Team. 
Sam Dekker was named to the coaches 2nd team and the media’s
3rd team.   Josh Gasser was named to the All-Defensive Team.  Ben Brust was Honorable Mention by both the
coaches and the media, while Traevon Jackson was named Honorable Mention by the
media. 

 

The Bucks rallied from
18 down in the first quarter to beat the Orlando Magic 105-98 at the BMO Harris
Bradley Center

last night.  Brandon Knight had 24 to
pace Milwaukee.
 The Bucks are now 13-50 on the season
with 19 games to play. Milwaukee
plays the Timberwolves tonight.  Coverage

The White Sox doubled up
the Brewers 6-3 on Monday in Cactus League play.  Yovani Gallardo struck out three and gave up
just 2 hits in 3 and a third innings of scoreless baseball.  The Brewers take today off and then get back
into action on Wednesday afternoon when they play the Angels. You’ll hear that
game on News-Talk 1450 KFIZ.

 

The Brewers trimmed
their roster to 44 players on Monday. 
The moves included sending infielders Taylor Green, Hunter Morris and
pitcher Jimmy Nelson down to minor league camp.

 

The Packers made it
official on Monday night, by announcing they resigned defensive back Sam
Shields.  Free agency officially starts
this afternoon in the NFL with teams being allowed to sign players.   The New York Giants are showing heavy
interest in Packers center Evan Dietrich-Smith. 
Andrew Quarless is also getting a lot of interest from teams in the
market for a tight end. The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports the Packers may have
interest in Baltimore defensive lineman Arthur
Jones, Oakland defensive end Lamarr Houston, and
Seattle
defensive end Red Bryant.

 

A scary moment in the
NHL as Rich Peverley of the Dallas Stars collapsed on the bench with Columbus leading one
nothing in the first period.  He was unconscious
and needed
chest compressions on him doctors
also had to defibrillate him.  He was
conscious when he was taken to the hospital and the game was called off.
