The Brewers lost to the Indiana 4-2 on Monday in Cactus League play.  Marco Estrada returned from the World Baseball Classic to throw 2 and a third innings, giving up one run, three hits, and three walks.  The Brewers send Wily Peralta to the hill this afternoon against the Dodgers.  Coverage begins at 2:55pm on News-Talk 1450 KFIZ.



The Dominican Republic scored 4 runs in the 5th inning to beat the Netherlands 4-1 in the World Baseball Classic title game last night in San Francisco. 



The Bucks host Portland tonight at the BMO Harris Bradley Center.  Coverage begins at 6:40pm on News-Talk 1450 KFIZ. 


Heat Win Again

The Miami Heat slipped by the Boston Celtics 105-103 last night in Beantown for their 23rd straight victory.  The 1971-72 Lakes won 33 games in a row. 


NCAA Tournament

The NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament begins tonight with a pair of first round games.  Long Island-Brooklyn will take on North Carolina A&T for the right to take on #1 seed Louisville.  Also tonight #11 seeds Middle Tennessee State and St. Mary’s square off with the winner getting #6 seed Memphis later this week.  Marquette leaves for Lexington, Kentucky today in preparation for their first round matchup with Davidson on Thursday.  The Badgers play Ole Miss on Friday morning.  They will leave later this week for Kansas City.


Women’s Tournament

Despite a 29-2 record the UW-Green Bay women’s basketball team draws a #11 seed and must play at #6 seed LSU in the first round of the women’s tournament.  The Marquette women will host Northern Iowa on Friday night in the Women’s NIT.


Packers Add Draft Pick

The NFL awarded the Green Bay Packers a fifth round pick, the 167th overall for their free agent losses of Scott Wells and QB Matt Flynn last year.


Packer QBs

Packers CEO Mark Murphy told the media at the NFL owners meetings that he hopes to get a long-term contract done with quarterback Aaron Rodgers sooner than later.  He also said the team is moving closer to getting on deciding when to retire the number of Packers quarterback Brett Favre. Murphy also said that Rodgers and Favre appearing together at the NFL Honors awards show was a good step to mending fences
