Woodson Breaks Collar Bone

Packers defensive back Charles Woodson will miss about six weeks with a broken collar bone.  There’s a chance the team may place him on Injured Reserve, ending his season.  The veteran defensive back was hurt late in the win over the St. Louis Rams on Sunday.  He didn’t mention the injury after the game but it was revealed on Monday.  With Woodson out rookie Casey Hayward is expected to take the role of covering receivers in the slot.  WR Greg Jennings is expected to test his injured groin on Thursday to see if he might be available for this weekends game.

 

Jones Drew

The Packers will not see Jacksonville running back Maurice Jones-Drew when the Jags come to Lambeau on Sunday.  The All-Pro running back injured his foot in Sunday’s loss the Raiders.

Chicago 13 Detroit 7 – Matt Forte ran for 96 yards in win.

 

Giants Back To World Series

The San Francisco Giants put up five runs in the 3rd inning and routed the St. Louis Cardinals 9-0 in Game 7 of the National League Championship Series.  The Giants fell behind three games to one in the best of seven series and then won three straight to send the defending champs home.  Game 1 of the World Series will be Wednesday night, when the Giants host Detroit.

 

Bucks Lose Again

The Bucks lost their 4th straight preseason game, falling at Toronto 104-95 on Monday night.  Monta Ellis led Milwaukee with 26 points.  Mike Dunleavy added 21.  The Bucks drop to 2-4 in the preseason.

 

Bucks Reach Arena Deal

The Bucks reached an agreement on a new six-year deal with the BMO Harris Bradley Center that will keep the team in Milwaukee through September, 30th of 2017.  That secures the Bucks to remain in the city for the next five seasons in a time when places like Seattle and Kansas City are looking to bring an NBA franchises back to their cities.

 

Fondy Boys Volleyball Wins

The Fond du Lac boys volleyball team beat Appleton West 3-2 on Monday night to clinch 3rd place in the FVA with a 6-2 league mark.
