The St. Mary’s Springs Ledgers remain at the top of this week’s Associated Press High School Football Poll. The Ledgers hold a 7-0 record and received all 14 first place votes in this week’s poll, following a 20-3 win over Winnebago Lutheran on Saturday afternoon. The Ledgers play at Laconia this week.

The Hierl Insurance High School Team of the Week is the Fond du Lac Cardinals Football Team. The Cardinals have won their last four games to climb back into a three way tie for 2nd place in the VFA-South. Their most recent triumph was a 20-14 win over Hortonville, that they won on the last play of the game on a touchdown pass from Jack Cole to Sam Frederickson. Fondy plays on the road at Wisconsin Rapids this Friday.

The Packers returned to practice on Monday following their bye week to begin preparations for the New York Giants on Sunday Night Football. Head Coach Mike McCarthy says the focus for Monday’s practice was on Fundamentals, which is good to focus on for the benefit of the younger players. He adds that facing a familiar face in former assistant Ben McAdoo, who’s now the head coach of the Giants, doesn’t change the way his team prepares this week. Pregame is set for 5pm, kickoff at 7:30 this Sunday, hear the game on KFIZ.

Monday Night Football: The Minnesota Vikings move to 4-0 on the season with a 24-10 win over the Giants at US Bank Stadium in Minneapolis. Vikings Quarterback Sam Bradford threw for 262 yards and a touchdown to Kyle Rudolph. Jerick McKinnon also ran for a score for the Vikings, who host the Houston Texans on Sunday.

The Milwaukee Bucks opened preseason play with a 93-91 win over the Chicago Bulls at the United Center in Chicago. Greg Monroe led Milwaukee with 15 points and 9 rebounds, Jabari Parker had 13 points and Michael Carter-Williams had 11 points and 10 boards. Jimmy Butler and Doug McDermott had 13 points apiece to lead Chicago. The Bucks’ next exhibition game is Saturday against the Dallas Mavericks at the Kohl Center in Madison.

In Baseball, the American League Wild Card game is tonight in Toronto. Chris Tillman goes for Baltimore, while Toronto counters with Marcus Stroman. The winner advances to the ALDS against the Texas Rangers. Game one of that series is set for Thursday.
