The Packers injury bug hit hard in Sunday’s loss to the Indianapolis Colts. Packers coach Mike McCarthy confirmed that RB Cedric Benson will miss Sunday night’s game in Houston with a foot injury. Other reports says that Benson could miss the next 8 weeks or the entire season if he needs surgery. That will leave James Starks, Alex Green, and Brandon Saine as the teams halfbacks. BJ Raji will be in a boot this week as he rehabs his injured ankle. TE Jerimichael Finley will also rehab a shoulder injury. Both those guys status for Sunday night will be determined later this week.
Next week’s Packer opponent Houston improved to 5-0 on the season with a 23-17 win over the NY Jets on Monday Night Football. Arian Foster ran for 152 yards and a TD in the win. Linebacker Brian Cushing went down with a knee injury and could miss Sunday’s game with Green Bay.
Chris Davis drove in a pair and the Orioles bullpen shut down the Yankees in a 3-2 win in the American League Division Series in Baltimore on Monday. The series is tied at 1-1 and now moves to New York.
In the National League, St. Louis evened up their Division Series at 1-1 with a 12-4 win over the Washington Nationals. Carlos Beltran hit a pair of homers for St. Louis as Wisconsin native Jordan Zimmerman took the loss of the Nats.
Today in MLB, The Reds take a 2-0 NLDS lead into San Francisco. In the American League, Detroit’s up 2-0 as they play game 3 in Oakland.
