The Brewers hired 30-year-old
David Stearns as the teams new General Manager on Monday.  Stearns has been the assistant GM with the
Houston Astros. 

 

The Cubs beat the Brewers 9-5
on Monday night at Wrigley Field. Wily Peralta got roughed up for six runs in
just 4 and two-thirds innings of work.  Adam
Lind and Khris Davis homered in a losing effort for Milwaukee
The series continues tonight.

Ryan Braun announced on
Monday that he would need offseason back surgery to repair a herniated
disc.   The team also announced they are shutting down
pitcher Jimmy Nelson for the rest of the season.  He was hit in the head by a line drive last
week.

The Packers have today
off.  Green Bay
is off to a 2-0 start this season and will host Kansas City on Monday Night Football in Week
3.  The Packers hope that the extra day
off will mean that Eddie Lacy will be able to play with the extra rest.  The team also put defensive lineman Josh Boyd
on IR with a broken ankle. They re-signed linebacker Joe Thomas off of the
Dallas Cowboys practice squad.

 

The Big Ten has set the
kickoff time for the Badgers conference opener against Iowa
for 11am at Camp Randall.
