Women’s College Volleyball:

Lakeland 3, Marian 0 (25-17, 25-13, 25-15)

NFL:

The Packers released tackle Don Barclay from Injured Reserve and signed wide receiver Max McCaffrey to the Practice Squad. Barclay has been out since September after suffering an ankle injury in the preseason. McCaffery was originally signed by the Packers last December, then released after this year’s training camp. He then spent time with New Orleans and Jacksonville before being released last week.

Major League Baseball:

Brewers Manager Craig Counsell was named the National League Manager of the Year by the Sporting News. The voting was done by polling Major League managers, of which Counsell received five votes. Arizona’s Torey Louvullo was second in the voting. Counsell led the Brewers to an 86-76 record in his second full season as the Brewers’ manager, missing out on a Wild Card berth by one game. The Sporting News named Cleveland’s Terry Francona American League Manager of the Year.

World Series (Game 1):

Los Angeles 3, Houston 1.

–Dodgers lead the series 1-0, game two is tonight in Los Angeles. Rich Hill gets the start for the Dodgers while Houston counters with Justin Verlander. First pitch just after 7pm Central Time.
