accepted his demotion to Triple-A Colorado Springs on Tuesday.  He was designated for assignment last week
after getting rocked by the Giants in the season opener.

single season record for victories set in the 1995-96 season.

 

Wisconsin native Steve
Stricker has been named the Captain of the 2017 United States Presidents Cup Team
to face off against the best non-European players in the world. The President’s
Cup runs at the end of September in 2017.

 

Benedictine swept the Marian
baseball team 11-3 and 4-2 on Tuesday at Herr-Baker Field.  The Sabres drop to 7-14 on the season.  Marian hosts Rockford in a doubleheader this afternoon
with game one set for 2pm.

 

The Marian softball team is
on the road this afternoon for a doubleheader at Lakeland.

 

The Laconia softball team edged Lomira 3-2 in 11
innings last night in Rosendale in a game you heard on News-Talk 1450
KFIZ.  The Spartans plated an unearned
run in the bottom of the 11th to win a matchup of two state
qualifers in 2015.  Laconia, the defending D3 champs saw Kayla
Schwebke strike out 16 to earn the victory. 
Lomira’s Megan Andes fanned 8 Spartans to take the hard luck loss.
