The American League took home field advantage in the World Series with a 3-0 win over the National League at the All-Star Game last night in New York. Yankee closer Mariano Rivera entered the game in the 8th inning to a standing ovation by the crowd and dugouts. The all-time great retired all three batters he faced and was given the game’s MVP. Both Jean Segura and Carlos Gomez were retired in Rivera’s 1-2-3 inning.
No Suspensions in 2013
A spokesman for the Major League Baseball Players Association says they don’t think any players named in the Biogenesis PED investigation will be suspended in 2013. They say any suspension handed down by MLB will be served in 2014.
Packers Made Money
Green Bay Packers officials talked about their 2012 fiscal year on Tuesday. They say that in the year ending on March 31st net income rose 1% to $43.1 million dollars. Operating profits rose 26.4% to $54.3 million and revenue jumped 2% to $308.1 million dollars. Profits this year are expected to dip a bit with them signing Aaron Rodgers and Clay Matthews to big long term contracts. The team also said that the new additions to Lambeau including 7,000 seats will generate was is equivalent to an extra home game.

Bucks Cut Gooden
The Bucks made it official on Tuesday and cut forward Drew Gooden using their amnesty waiver. The team will pay the veteran the final $13 million dollars they owe him over the final two years of his contract but it won’t count against the salary cap.
