Brewers Stop Cubs

The Brewers blew by the Cubs 9-3 in their series opener at Miller Park on Tuesday night. Rickie Weeks hit a pair of home runs and drove in 4 on the night while Juan Francisco also added solo shot in the win.  Kyle Lohse gave up 8 hits and just 3 runs in 7 innings of work to notch the win.  Edwin Jackson took the loss.  The series continues tonight as Yovani Gallardo takes on Scott Feldman.  Coverage begins at 6:35pm on KFIZ.

Figaro to DL

The Brewers have placed pitcher Alfredo Figaro on the 15 day disabled list with an oblique strain.  The team called up 6’9 pitcher Johnny Hellweg and he will get the start on Friday in Pittsburgh.  Hellweg was acquired in the Zack Greinke trade.

Hart Ailing

Brewers manager Ron Roenicke says that Corey Hart is not making any progress with his injured right knee.  The Brewers skipper says Hart will see another medical opinion on the knee.  He was eligible to come off the 60 day DL in late May but is still not ready to play.

Bucks Draft

The Bucks continue to get ready for Thursday night’s NBA Draft.  If the Bucks stay put where they are its most likely they will be looking at guard. The Bucks have the 15th and 43rd picks tomorrow night.  GM John Hammond hinted that the trade winds might be blowing and the team may be moving up or down.  Other rumors say the team is trying to acquire sharpe-shooter Paul Pierce from the Boston Celtics as that team tries to dump veterans and rebuild.
