Brewers Win

The Brewers scored 4 runs in the 5th inning as they topped the Dodgers 5-2 on Tuesday. Carlos Gomez’s two-run double highlighted the inning and helped make a winner out of Mike Fiers who relieved Hiram Burgos.   Zack Greinke took the loss for the Dodgers The series wraps up this afternoon.  Wily Peralta takes the hill for the Crew.  Coverage begins at 11:35am with the first pitch set for 12:10pm on News-Talk 1450 KFIZ.

 

Diener To Throw Out First Pitch

Fond du Lac native and current Cardinal Stritch men’s basketball coach Drew Diener will throw out the ceremonial first pitch before this afternoon’s Brewer game.  Diener led the Wolves to their first ever NAIA Division II National Championship earlier this year.

NBA Draft Lottery

The Cleveland Cavaliers won the NBA Draft Lottery on Tuesday night.  Orlando will pick 2nd in this summer’s draft. Washington will pick 3rd.  It’s the 2nd time in three seasons that the Cavs have won the draft lottery to get the first overall pick.

 

NHL Playoffs

Boston 2 Rangers 1 – Bruins lead series 3-0

San Jose 2 Kings 1 – Series tied 2-2

 

Packers OTAs

The Packers continue Organized Team Activities today.  The team announced on Tuesday that JC Tretter broke his ankle during Monday’s practice.  The agent for the 4th round pick said the injury would take at least 6 months to heal.

 

Woodson Signs With Raiders

Former Packer defensive back Charles Woodson has inked a one year deal with the team he started with.  Woodson will play next season for the Oakland Raiders where he played his first 8 NFL seasons.

 

Super Bowl Sites

The NFL owners announced that Super Bow 50 in February of 2016 would be in Santa Clara, California in the new home for the 49ers.  Super Bowl 51, the following year would be in Houston. 

 

WIAA Golf Regionals

Division 1

The Fond du Lac boys golf team finished 2nd at the Regional played at Westhaven on Tuesday afternoon to qualify for the Sectional with a team score of 318.  Neenah won the event with a 306.  Charlie Blagoue wad 5th and paced Fondy with a 76.  Marcus Ruch added a 77.  Mitch Cardinal an 82.  Matt Dilling and Joe Wright each carded 83s.

 

Division Two

Campbellsport and WLA both advanced to the Sectionals with a 2nd and 3rd place finish respectively at the D2 Regional at Rolling Meadows on Tuesday.  The Cougars 2nd place finish was paced by Logan Eisch and Jack Adams 83s, which placed them 8th.  WLA’s 3rd place finished was highlighted by a 2nd place 76 by Chris Colla and Eric Schroeder’s 80 which put him in a 3 way tie for 3rd.  Ripon’s Michael Lueptow and Sam Vander Plas each qualified as individuals for the Sectional. 

 

Division Three

St. Mary’s Springs ran away with the Division Three Regional at Rolling Meadows with a 310 to qualify for Sectionals.  The Ledgers had golfers occupy the top four spots individually, Patrick Treichel won the event with a 75.  Nate Strigenz was 2nd a shot back at 76.  Brady Sarauer finished 3rd with a 79 and Sean Ahern tied for 4th with an 80.  Central Wisconsin Christian’s Logan Ganz qualified as an individual for Sectionals with a 90 which was good for 10th place.

The Fond du Lac boys were 2nd at the sub-sectional and advanced to the sectional
