.  Jimmy Nelson gave up just 2 runs and 5 hits
in seven and a third innings of work but took the loss. Johnny Cueto picked up
the win, giving up just one run and six hits in 7 innings of work.   The
series wraps up this afternoon as Taylor Jungmann gets the start against Jeff
Samardzija.  Coverage begins at 12:05pm

is set for 12:40pm.

 

The Brewers placed starter
Matt Garza on the 15 day disabled list with a back injury.  He could be out until mid-may.  The Brewers sent cash to the Texas Rangers on
Tuesday in exchange for lefty Sam Freeman.  
Ariel Pena was sent to the minors.

Marquette’s Henry Ellenson made it official on Tuesday,
declaring for the NBA Draft after just one season.  The Rice Lake
native is expected to be a lottery pick.

 

The Connecticut Huskies
women’s basketball team won their record 4th straight national
championship with an 82-51 win over Syracuse
last night in Indianapolis.  It’s the school’s 11th women’s
national basketball championship.
