In the Week 8 edition of the WisSports.net Football Coaches Poll, Winnebago Lutheran moves up a spot to number nine in the Division 5 poll. In Division six, Saint Mary’s Springs remains at the top of the poll with their 8-0 record. The top 7 positions in the D6 poll are held by unbeaten teams. And in the eight-man poll, Oakfield climbs three spots to number four following a win over Maranatha Baptist.

Badgers forward Nigel Hayes was selected as preseason Big Ten Player of the Year by a panel of conference media members. Hayes was a unanimous selection to the preseason all-conference team and was joined by Ethan Happ and Bronson Koenig as Badgers earning preseason honors. Malcom Hill of Illinois, James Blackmon, Jr. and Thomas Bryant of Indiana, Peter Jok of Iowa, Maryland’s Melo Trimble, Derrick Walton Jr. of Michigan and Caleb Swanigan from Purdue were the other preseason all-conference honorees.
