The National League
Championship Series is set.  Matt Adams’
3 run homer in the 7th off of Clayton Kershaw lifted St. Louis past the
Dodgers 3-2 and win their Division Series 3-1. 
The Giants beat the Nationals 3-2 to win their NLDS 3-1.  The NLCS begins on Saturday with Kansas City and Baltimore
opening the ALCS on Friday night.

 

The Packers get back to work
today as they get ready for a trip to Miami
on Sunday.  You’ll hear the game on
News-Talk 1450 KFIZ.  Coverage begins at
10am with the kickoff set for Noon.

 

The Badger football team
hosts Illinois
on Saturday. Coverage begins at 9am with kickoff at 11am on KFIZ.

 

The Bucks open up preseason
play tonight as they take on the Memphis Grizzlies at the Resch
Center in Green Bay

The Fond du Lac football team moved up two spots
to #4 in this week’s Wissports.net Division One Football Poll.  Kimberly is #1, Germantown
#2, and Bay Port #3. 
St. Mary’s Springs holds steady at #2
in the D6 poll.  Edgar remains #1.

 

Fond du Lac had a singles player and a double team advance to
Sectionals on Tuesday.  Nicole Feltz and
the doubles team of Annie Hierl and Maddie Bahr will compete in the Sectional
on Thursday in Appleton
after winning Sub-Sectional matches in Beaver Dam.

Girls Golf

Fondy tied for 6th at the Sectional in Sheboygan on Tuesday.  Shania Schibbelhut led the way with a 94. 

 

WAUKESHA, Wis. (SabreAthletics.com) – Senior forward Brittany Syms (Sault Ste.
Marie, Ontario) was named Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference Player of
the Week after leading the Marian University women’s soccer team to a pair of
wins last week, the league announced, Monday, Oct. 6. Syms scored four
goals in two games and the Sabres turned in two 4-0 shutouts against Wisconsin
Lutheran and Concordia Chicago last week. Against the Warriors on Sept. 30, she
registered her first career hat trick, scoring in the 18′, 38′ and 73′.
In
a homecoming match-up against the Cougars on Saturday, she continued her torrid
pace by breaking a scoreless tie in the 50′, making her responsible for both
game-winning tallies on the week and earning her second-career NACC weekly
award.
