Jorge Lopez picked up a win
in his Big League debut as the Brewers downed the Padres 4-3 on Tuesday
night.   The rookie struck out 7 and gave
up 3 runs in five innings worth of work. 
Jean Segura homered, doubled and drove in 3 in the win.   The Brewers and Padres continue their series
tonight. Zach Davies gets the start for Milwaukee
while Andrew Cashner gets the nod for San
Diego

The Dodgers clinched the National
League West with an 8-0 win over San
Francisco
last night.

 

The Packers get back on the
practice field as they get ready for their trip out west for a Sunday afternoon
matchup with the San Francisco
49ers.  That is a 3:25pm kickoff so our
coverage on KFIZ begins at 1pm.  The
Packers will head west a day early, leaving on Friday for San Francisco.

 

The Packers will be without
tight end Andrew Quarless for at least a month after he suffered sprained MCL.

 

The Badgers will open up Big
Ten play on Saturday when they host Iowa at Camp Randall.  Coverage begins at 9am with the kickoff set
for 11am.

 

The NCAA has dropped the
hammer on SMU’s men’s basketball team and hall of fame coach Larry Brown.  The Mustangs are banned from post-season play
this year and will lose 9 scholarships over 3 years.  Brown will be suspended 9 games for academic
fraud.

 

Bucks coach Jason Kidd put
his team through a three hour workout on Tuesday as they opened training
camp.  Their first preseason game is next
Tuesday against Chicago.

We’ve got a pair of high
school football games this weekend on KFIZ. 
On Friday night, Fond du Lac
hits the road to Hortonville for a VFA-South Division matchup.  A win by Fondy will clinch a share of the
league title. Our coverage begins at 5:30pm on Friday night with the Tim Cruz
Agency American Family Insurance Pregame Show. 
The kickoff is set for 7pm.

 

St. Mary’s Springs hosts WLA on Saturday for Homecoming
at Fruth.  That game kicks off at 1pm but
you can hear it on tape delay on KFIZ after Badger football about 4pm.
