Sturgeon Report – Day 10: 2/18/19

Monday’s sturgeon spearing numbers took quite a dip compared to the weekend’s totals. DNR Sturgeon Biologist Ryan Koenigs says only 26 fish were harvested on the entire Lake Winnebago system on Monday. 17 of those fish came from Lake Winnebago itself with nine from the Upriver Lakes. Monday was the final day of the season for the Upriver Lakes as the 90% adult female cap was reached on Sunday. Mack Stuck of Menasha had the largest fish of Monday’s harvest – registering a 95.6 pound, 68.2 inch long sturgeon at Waverly Beach. Ricky Remme of Fremont had the largest sturgeon on the Upriver Lakes on Monday – he speared a 83.1 pound, 68 inch long sturgeon.
