– Vikings Edge Ledgers

The Winnebago Lutheran baseball team completed the season sweep of cross-town rival St. Mary’s Springs with a 5-2 win at Viking Field on Monday night.  WLA scored single runs in the first three innings and then a pair of runs in the 4th.  Cleanup hitter Ryan Boelk successfully completed suicide squeeze bunts in the 1st and 3rd to plate runs.  Mitch McFArlane drove in the WLA run in the 2nd inning.  WLA’s two runs in the 4th came on an error and a wild pitch.  St. Mary’s Spring got their first hit of the game in the 6th when Jacob Schneider blasted a home run to left.  Eric Feldner added a solo shot in the 7th for SMSA.  Kevin Seibel picked up the win while Maustin Otterstatter tallied the final out of the game to notch the save.  Feldner was the hard luck loser for St. Mary’s Springs.  St. Mary’s Springs (4-3) goes to Kettle Moraine Lutheran on Tuesday, while WLA (8-3) plays a double header at Lomira.
