>>Green Bay Packers Release Preseason Schedule

(Green Bay, WI)  —  Assuming no additional delays are causing by the coronavirus pandemic, the Green Bay Packers will open their preseason schedule at Lambeau Field, August 15th against the Arizona Cardinals.  The Packers four-game schedule was released Thursday.  Following the 12:00 noon kickoff for the Cardinals game, the Packers will host the Cleveland Browns at 3:00 p-m the following Saturday. Then, the preseason will be wrapped up with two night games on the road – Saturday, August 29th at the New York Giants and Thursday, September 3rd at the Kansas City Chiefs, with a 7:00 p-m kickoff for both games.

>>University Of Wisconsin Offers Option To Season Ticket Holders Leery Of COVID-19

(Madison, WI)  —  The University of Wisconsin is offering an option to season ticket holders who are worried about attending games in the midst of the coronavirus pandemic.  Fans will be allowed to pay a 50-dollar deposit to retain their season tickets for 2021 games.  U-W officials say they still hope the full 2020 schedule will be played, but they’re working with those season ticket holders who are unsure about attending games this year.  The deal rewards those fans for their loyalty and gives them a choice if they’re worried about exposure.  The Badgers have six scheduled home games starting September 4th against Indiana.

 

>>NASCAR Adds 5 More Cup Series Races To Its Shortened 2020 Schedule

(Charlotte, NC)  —  NASCAR officials say they now plan to run 12 races across the three national series this season.  The sport’s governing body announced the addition of five more Cup Series races Thursday.  Races will be held at Bristol, Talladega, Atlanta, Martinsville and Homestead-Miami.  As it stands now, fans will not be allowed to attend.  After a 10-week break due to the coronavirus pandemic, NASCAR’s first race back will be Sunday at Darlington Raceway.  Eight spring races have been missed so far.

 

>>NBA Officials, Players Agree To Return To The Court – As Long As Precautions Are Taken

(Milwaukee, WI)  —  Multiple sources are reporting that NBA officials and players have agreed to return to the court – as long as precautions are taken. Milwaukee Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo and the L-A Lakers’ LeBron James were reportedly among the league’s players who were on a conference call earlier this week. Yahoo Sports and ESPN are reporting the decision was made to resume the season at the end of that call.  Although it was set up by National Basketball Players Association President Chris Paul, it wasn’t a formal union meeting.  Former Buck Tony Smith questions whether any player would say he doesn’t want to return when he is in front of his peers on a conference call.

 

>>Packers Hall Of Fame Induction Banquet Postponed Until 2021

(Green Bay, WI)  —  The Green Bay Packers Hall of Fame has postponed its 2020 induction banquet until next year.  The announcement was made Thursday.  The Hall says the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic means the 50th annual ceremony will now be held April 17th, 2021.  Packers Hall of Fame President Tom Konop says the change was made for the safety of all of the guests.  Inductees Charles Woodson and Al Harris will be honored.  There will be special recognition for the most memorable moment in Packers history – with LeRoy Butler and Robert Brooks accepting on behalf of the Lambeau Leap.
