>>Brewers Submit List Of Names For 60-Player Pool To League

(Milwaukee, WI) -- The Milwaukee Brewers have submitted their list of names for the 60-player pool to league officials. Sunday was the deadline. From that list, the Brewers will have a little over three weeks to narrow it down to 30 players. Rosters will be larger for the 60-game season starting later next month. Because of the shortened spring training, teams are expected to use more pitchers because the starters won’t stay in the game as long as they have in the past.

>>With New Addition, Already-Strong GB Ground Game Will Be Even More Important

(Green Bay, WI)  --  The addition of second-round draft choice A-J Dillon suggests the Green Bay Packers may have put together their deepest backfield in nearly 20 years.  Coach Matt LaFleur made it apparent in his rookie season he would put emphasis on the ground game.  Aaron Jones and Jamal Williams combined for nearly 18 hundred yards rushing, 727 catching passes and they scored 37 touchdowns.  You may see more than one back on the field at the same time.  When that happened during last season the Packers scored five touchdowns on 19 plays.

>>Big Ten Network Picks Taylor, Borland For All-Decade Football Team

(Chicago, IL)  -- Last week it was basketball, this week football.  The Big Ten Network is picking it's All-Decade football team with running backs and linebackers named Monday.  Jonathan Taylor and Chris Borland were honored.  This wasn’t one of those selections where there were a dozen linebackers named.  Borland, Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year in 2013, is one of three linebackers after a career of 50 tackles for loss and 17 sacks.  His 15 forced fumbles are a Big Ten record and second in FBS history.  Taylor was the only college back to rush for more than six thousand yards in three seasons and was a contender for the Heisman Trophy.

>>Sports Illustrated Tabs McCarthy As Odds-On Favorite To Be NFL Coach Of The Year

(New York, NY)  --  Sports Illustrated is pointing to former Packers coach Mike McCarthy as its odds-on favorite to be NFL Coach of the Year.  S-I-dot-com writer Albert Breer calls McCarthy a really good coach who has a good veteran staff.  He says the Dallas Cowboys roster has enough talent to win the 12 games it would take for McCarthy to win the honor.  Breer says coaches like Sean Payton and John Harbaugh are great, but their teams would need to get close to a 16-and-0 record for one of those two coaches to take the award.
