Allan R. Engel

Allan R. Engel, 72, of Eden passed away Thursday Jan. 17, 2013
at his home. He was born Oct. 25, 1940 in Fond du Lac, the son of Alfred and
Dorothy Schaefer Engel. On Feb. 17, 1962, Al married Sheila Ann Salter at St.
Mary’s Catholic Church in Eden. Al worked at the Gehl Company and for Ed Shenk
Contruction before operating his own construction business with his sons Pat and
Mike. He belonged to the Eden Lions Club and the Eden Fireman’s Association. Al
enjoyed life to the fullest and attended many car shows especially with his
restored 1968 Camaro convertible (he and Pat were working on a 1974 Corvette).
He also enjoyed fishing on Lake Winnebago, playing sheepshead and liar’s dice.
Al was an awesome dad, grandpa, brother, uncle and friend; he will be greatly
missed.

Survivors include his children Kim (Allan) Lackas of Brownsville, Pat
(Shannon) Engel of Campbellsport and Mike (Holly) Engel of Eden, his
grandchildren Christopher, Benjamin, Lilly, Jesse, Trenton, Beth and Austin, his
brothers Roger (Gloria) Engel of Eden and John (Sue) Engel of Fond du Lac, his
sisters Marianne (William) Timblin of Eden and Carolyn (Gordon) Immel of Fond du
Lac, his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Jack and Carol Salter of Eden and
Mary and Jerry Schill of Campbellsport, nieces, nephews, other relatives and
many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Sheila on Aug.
16, 2005, and his sisters Mona and Barbara.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday Jan. 21st at 1:00 PM at
Shepherd of the Hills Catholic Church, W1562 County Rd. B Eden. Rev. Charles
Wester will officiate and burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Eden.
Following the burial a reception and luncheon will be held in the parish hall.
There will be no visitation before the mass. Memorials may be directed to
Shepherd of the Hills Church, the Eden Fire Department, the Eden Lions Club or
the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
