Allen W. Rolf

Allen W. Rolf, age 72, of Chilton died on Tuesday, May 27, 2018 at his home in Chilton.  He was born April 5, 1946 in the Town of Woodville, son of William & Regina (Schmitt) Rolf.

Allen was a man of few words, wants or needs.  He knew what was most important to navigate the waters of life – family, friends, comfortable shoes, a puzzle or two, a cup of hot chocolate and a shiny new key chain. The twinkle in his eye when these warm blessings were around spoke volumes of their significance.

Allen began working at the New Hope Center in Chilton in 1980.  All of his life was filled with opportunities and experiences thanks to the programs available to him and a tremendous community of loving people willing to assist Allen at every moment of his life.  Allen was able to live independently and be an active member of his community.  In 2006, he was honored with an award of merit for his many years of dedication to the work at New Hope.

In his free time, Allen enjoyed moments sitting outside in his rocking chair with his brother and friends visiting.  Although some of these visits were a bit too loud for his neighbors, Allen cherished the company all the same.

He is survived by his brothers: Larry, David & Luke Rolf; his sisters: Monica Schmitz, Janice Goeser, Lila Lefeber & Susan Rolf; and his guardian and special friend: Cyndi Di Matteo.  He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and too many friends to mention.

Allen was preceded in death by his parents: William & Regina Rolf; his brothers: Ronnie, Dennis, Robert & Gerald Rolf; and a sister: Rose Dickrel.

Funeral service will be on Wednesday, June 6, 2018 at the Wieting Family Funeral Home (411 W. Main St.) in Chilton.  Burial will be in the St. Mary Catholic Cemetery in Stockbridge.  Friends may call at the funeral home from 3:30 pm until 4:45 pm on Wednesday, June 6, 2018.

Allen’s family would like to thank the staff of New Hope Center and Almost Family for their years of loving dedication to Allen.

Memorials given in the name of Allen W. Rolf are greatly appreciated for the New Hope Center in Chilton.
