Antoinette Schey Guenther

Antoinette Schey Guenther, 87, of Campbellsport was united with the love of her life on Saturday, August 23, 2014 at the Hospice Home of Hope in Fond du Lac. She had been a resident for 4 days and was surrounded by her family at passing. Toni was born on Feb. 11, 1927 in Spring Green, the only daughter of the late Anton and Isabel (nee Fischer) Schey. She graduated from Mount Mary University in 1950 with education degrees in English and speech, accepting her first teaching assignment at Campbellsport High School and “temporarily” moved to Campbellsport. On July 29, 1953, Toni was united in marriage to Arthur W. Guenther, Jr. Arthur preceded her in death on November 28, 1994.

Those Toni leaves behind to cherish her memory include her one son Arik (Jane Best) Guenther of Campbellsport, her three daughters, Arthena (Richard) Kurtz of Hudson, Amy (Gary) Seibel of Mequon and April (Matthew Rahman) Tarras, of Campbellsport, twelve grandchildren, Brandon (Lilly) Guenther, Arika (Bryan) Guenther Woods, Michelle Haza, Lyndie Anne Guenther, Collin Tarras, Nicki Seibel, Cally Haza, Nathan Seibel, Mitchell Tarras, Tayler Haza, Nevin Seibel and Nolan Seibel and three great grandchildren, Gage, Olive and Hayden.

In addition to her husband and parents, father and mother in-law, Toni was preceded in death by her son-in-law Michael Haza.

Toni was a member of St. Matthew’s Catholic Church in Campbellsport, the Christian Women Society, Lawyers Wives of Fond du Lac County and the State of Wisconsin, Campbellsport Parent/Teacher Organization, Campbellsport Women’s Club and the Campbellsport Girl Scouts. She enjoyed camping trips with the Girl Scouts and directing several plays for the Campbellsport Lion’s Club and musicals for St. Matthew’s CYO. Toni truly enjoyed theatre and ballroom dancing.

Arthur and Toni travelled extensively taking numerous vacations with their children throughout the United States and have visited every continent. Toni enjoyed spending winters in Mexico. Education was very important to Toni and she was proud of the fact that all her children and many of her grandchildren are college graduates; some with post graduate degrees.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday Aug. 29th at 5:00 PM at St. Matthew’s Catholic Church, 406 E. Main St. Campbellsport. Rev. Neil Zinthefer will officiate and burial will follow in St. Matthew’s Cemetery.
