Arthur L. Fannin

Arthur L. Fannin passed away May 26, 2017 at Century Ridge in Chilton, surrounded by his loving family.

Art was born in Hammond, Indiana on June 22, 1928 to Harry and Violet (Dorau) Fannin. Later they moved the family to Crandon, Wisconsin. He attended school and graduated from Crandon High School in 1947. After graduation he joined the army and served his country with honors in the Korean War from 1948 – 1952. In August, 1958 he married Genetta Hollon in L’Anse, Michigan. He worked as an agent for Standard Oil Co. in New Holstein, Wisconsin. On June 25, 1988 he married Marion Keuler at St. Mary’s Church in Chilton, Wisconsin.

After retiring in 1990, Art and Marion spent their retirement traveling to Las Vegas and playing Bingo at Oneida. Art was very proud to have gone on the Stars and Stripes Honor Flight with his son, Harry, in June of 2014. He was a member of American Legion Post 0125 in Chilton. He enjoyed bowling, loved the Packers, Brewers, and how about them Cubbies. He spent many hours in his workshop making toys for the grandchildren, as well as birdhouses, and anything anybody wanted. He even made cedar chests for all of his granddaughters for their high school graduations.

Dementia robbed him of many things, but he never lost his sense of humor; he was the King of one-liners.
